Connect Datadog

You need API key and Application key. About two minutes.

1Get these from Datadog

API key

Paste the Datadog API key
  1. Open Organization Settings, API Keys.
  2. Click New Key, name it and click Create API Key.
  3. Copy the key.

Organization Settings, API Keys.

Open the page

https://app.datadoghq.com/organization-settings/api-keys

Application key

Paste the application key
  1. Open Organization Settings, Application Keys.
  2. Click New Key, name it and click Create.
  3. Optionally restrict its scopes to usage_read.
  4. Copy the key now: it may not be shown again.

Organization Settings, Application Keys. Datadog needs both: the API key alone answers 403, which reads as a permissions problem rather than a missing second key.

Open the page

https://app.datadoghq.com/organization-settings/application-keys

2Add it to CreditBar

  1. Open CreditBar from the menu bar and choose Settings, then Accounts.
  2. Click Add account and pick Datadog.
  3. Paste the API key and the Application key into the matching fields, and give the account a label you will recognise.
  4. Click Test connection, then Add. Numbers appear in the menu bar within a minute.

Keys are stored in your Mac's Keychain and only ever sent to Datadog. Nothing passes through a CreditBar server.
