Connect Stripe
You need Secret or restricted key. About two minutes.
1Get your Secret or restricted key
Secret or restricted key
sk_live_… or rk_live_…- In the Stripe Dashboard, switch to live mode and open the API keys page.
- Click Create restricted key and give it a name.
- Set balance transactions to Read and leave every other resource at None.
- Click Create key, complete verification and copy the rk_live_ value: it is shown only once.
A restricted key with read access to balance transactions is enough. CreditBar never writes to Stripe.
Open the pagehttps://dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys
2Add it to CreditBar
- Open CreditBar from the menu bar and choose Settings, then Accounts.
- Click Add account and pick Stripe.
- Paste the Secret or restricted key into the matching field, and give the account a label you will recognise.
- Click Test connection, then Add. Numbers appear in the menu bar within a minute.
Keys are stored in your Mac's Keychain and only ever sent to Stripe. Nothing passes through a CreditBar server.

- Refreshes
- At most every 15 minutes
- API docs

Net of Stripe's fees, refunds and disputes. Payouts to your bank are movements, not revenue, so they are excluded.
